SOFT DRINKS

ALCOHOL SOFT DRINKS CONSUMPTION IS INJURIOUS TO HEALTH”

Yes, The Soft Drinks we are consuming will cause adverse health effects.

This is the topic that I’m waiting to make a blog from the day I started blogging.

(Note: I have stopped consuming Soft Drinks many months ago)

The health issues caused by the Soft Drinks are Obesity, Diabetes, body weight, heart disease, stomach problem, cancer, liver damage, infertility, bone health, teeth disorders, reproduction problem.

The main reason is Sugar containing in the drink.

American Heart Association (AHA) suggests that sugar limit of no more than 100 calories per day (about 6 teaspoons or 24 grams) for most adult women and no more than 150 calories per day (about 9 teaspoons or 36 grams of sugar) for most men.

The AHA also recommends a lower daily limit of added sugars for children ages 2-18 to less than 6 teaspoons or 24 grams per day, and sugary beverages should be limited to no more than 8 ounces a week.

(1 ounce = 28 grams approximately)

Now, consider a 1.25 litre bottle of THUMBS UP.  Let’s look at the sugar quantity in it.

A 100ml of Thumbs Up contains 10 grams of added sugar that means,

A 1.25 litre (1200ml) bottle of THUMBS UP contains 125 grams of added sugar.

Let’s say we bought 500ml Thumbs up bottle and consume it. Indirectly we are consuming 50 grams of added sugar which is more than the levels of sugar consumption per day recommended by American Heart Association (AHA). This leads to Type 2 diabetes and obesity and can even cause fatty liver disease.

But there is another ingredient which I get to know recently on Social Media, that is far more dangerous especially in Coke, Pepsi and other drinks which is in brownish black colour and is called Caramel Colouring. Caramel is derived from heating sugar to extremely high temperatures. One of the chemicals found in caramel colouring is 4-MEI which also called as 4-METHYLIMIDAZOLE. Researchers in the US found that 4-MEI caused cancer in the mice and the US state of California classified 4-MEI as a CARCINOGEN and required drinks to carry Warning Labels.

Making it simple, CARCINOGEN is a substance which is capable of causing cancer.

After facing the backlash (a strong negative reaction by a large number of people), Coca-Cola and Pepsi decided to tweak their formula to contain lesser amounts of 4-MEI but only in the USA. However, In India the regulations around the concentration levels of 4-Mei that are permitted in food products are non-existent. Means those regulations are not really followed in India.

And the Carbonated Water used in the Soft Drinks can cause calcium loss, tooth decay, irritable bowel syndrome, weight gain.

Some people may tell that they consume Maaza (which don’t contain carbonated water) instead of Coke, Pepsi, Thumbs Up and other drinks. But just look at the ingredients mentioned in the bottle label. You will then realize that an average 1 Litre Maaza bottle contains only 10% of mango pulp which means 100 ml of mango pulp is present in the 1000ml of Maaza bottle.

And the remaining ingredients are Acidity Regulators, stabilizer, Antioxidant, Permitted Synthetic Food Colour, Added mango Flavours and Artificial Flavouring Substances which may not be that much bad for health but for sure it shows side effects towards our health. You can also google the disadvantages of those ingredients towards our health.

Conclusion:

Finally, What I want to say is not to get attracted to the taste and Advertisements shown in Television by the actors and put your health at risk. I know we are much addicted to the soft drinks. Even, it took me much time to get rid off the habit of consuming the soft drinks. You may say that we only live about 50 to 60 years and why can’t we eat and drink what we like. What I say is, it’s true we may live till 50 to 60 years but let’s live with less diseases and illness. Think once. Literally we became puppets by the Soft Drinks Industries and Food Industries. Let’s realize the facts and stop consuming the unwanted and unhealthy products.

Since these Soft Drinks companies are large and have the power, we may not win against them and shut down those companies even we file a case on them. Because there will be internal politics for sure. The one best thing we can do is to stop encouraging those companies by stop consuming their products.

MISTAKES

According to my opinion, these are the three common categories and aspects in life where we make mistakes In Academics: Many of us did many mistakes in our academics and even failed in exams too. We see many students are committing suicides when they are failing in their exams, mainly in their 10th standard that too in our India. We, society has influenced the students or children that they should get pass in their 10th standard or else they will fail in life. Not only about the 10th standard there are many parents who inculcate in their children mind that they should get high score or top rank in academics that too in a frightened manner, telling their children that they will be given punishment from their parents. Both parents and teachers need to be awake from the misconceptions. Parents need to understand that Marks alone neither decide the success nor the future of the children. It’s fine if your children get less marks. It’s fine if your children are not able to perform well in a...

COMPARISON

Comparison Comparison can kill your confidence and goals. On the other side it can make you achieve your goals.  Yes, there is both positive and negative side for comparison. The positive side comes from gratitude and the negative side comes from comparison alone.  Let’s discuss on both positive side and negative side of comparison. Comparison (Negative Side): Most of us become depressed or lose hope mainly due to comparison. We compare ourselves with others who are successful. We compare our current financial status with someone else’s financial status. Not only us, even our parents compare us to our siblings, cousins and neighbor’s children and make us feel we are worth nothing. It makes us feel like we are useless thus lose hope towards our goals, dreams and even in life.  Gratitude (Positive Side): We make mistake by comparing our present status/situation which includes money, job, car/bike, home, and many more with someone else who is having all those things. ...
